Session 1 – 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM

    ProFinia Tour, Part 1*
    Are you curious about ProFinia? This two-part session provides a tour of ProFinia and introduces you to its unique strengths. Part 1 begins with a high-level functional comparison between InfoLease and ProFinia. Then the tour begins. We will demonstrate some key tasks and how they are accomplished, including:

  • Creating a customer
  • Entering an agreement
  • Performing customer service
  • Collecting a payment
  • Viewing financial transaction histories
  • Reviewing end-of-term options.

    * While there will be a short break between Parts 1 and 2, the sessions will be continuous, with Part 2 picking up where Part 1 left off.

    Trying Something New: How could Rapport® help my company?
    Learn how your company can use Rapport as a tool for refining your front-office processing, from transaction origination to final booking. This session provides an overview and demonstration of how you can streamline business processes, eliminate re-keying, and capture critical data accurately and efficiently. In addition, you learn about how Rapport can enable you to effectively adapt to changing business needs.

    Beginning at the Beginning: Booking Processes in InfoLease
    If you are new to InfoLease, the quickest way to get "up to speed" is to understand contract booking processes. This session provides that basic understanding. This session is not for experienced users.

    Product Update Series: What's New in Rapport
    Find out about new capabilities added in the latest releases of Rapport, including features for global business and broader uses within your current business. This session also provides a preview of upcoming features in the 2009 releases.

Monday Afternoon

Training Sessions – 1:15 – 5:00 pm

    These two sessions are multiple-hour, hands-on training, designed to provide guided skill and process practice. Choose one of these sessions instead of three 1-hour informational sessions (Session times 2, 3, and 4). While there will be breaks during the session, they may not follow the same break schedule as the 1-hour informational sessions.

    Leveraging the Data in Your InfoLease System: InfoTrieve™ for Advanced Users
    If you have been using InfoTrieve for relatively simple reporting and would like to be able to tap into more sophisticated capability, this session is for you. This session will enable you to:

  • Explain the basic concepts of bridging
  • Find keys for bridging in InfoLease
  • Pull bridging ATBs from one dictionary to another
  • Identify single-bridges not listed on the File Bridges Chart.
  • Add prompts to your InfoTrieve statement to define selection criteria


    ProFinia User for a Day: Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, & Collections
    Experience what it might be like to use ProFinia as your back-office solution. In this session, we guide you through common invoicing, accounts receivable, customer service, & collections scenarios, including:

  • Configuring lockboxes, payment algorithm rules and collection work lists
  • Creating payment batches and working with suspense
  • Handling misapplied cash, returned checks and creating credit memos
  • Adding non-rent billing schedules and one-time charges
  • Working with charge lists and payment lists
  • Answering common customer service questions
  • Working a delinquent customer or agreement

Informational Sessions

Session 3 – 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM

    Pain-Free Progress: Technical Best Practices for Rapport Release Upgrades
    Are you concerned about upgrading to the next release of Rapport? This session addresses your concerns by walking you through our new release upgrade process, providing you with technical best practices, and a better understanding of how installations and upgrades impact your back-office integration and test environments.

    Impact of a Challenging Economic Climate on Portfolios and Operations
    This session addresses challenges like re-pricing, restructuring, inventory, and non-accruals. After a brief overview of current industry challenges, we will discuss best practices for dealing with these challenges in roundtable breakouts. Participants will have the chance to compare their practices with others in the industry.

    Product Update Series: What's new in InfoLease?
    InfoLease continues to evolve, and this session shows you the latest. Attend this session to hear about new developments, including multiple bookset capability, a new insurance interface, a catalog of generally available optional enhancements, and market requirements to be addressed in upcoming releases.

Session 4 – 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

    Rapport – Bringing it all Together: A Closer Look at Multiple Back-Office Capability
    For businesses operating with more than one back-office system, Rapport offers new technology which enables a single instance to connect with multiple environments at once, including both International Decision Systemsâ solutions (InfoLease, ProFinia) and third-party portfolio management systems. This session explains how this exciting new capability provides two strategic advantages:

  • the ability to consolidate the origination process and customer exposure synchronization across multiple back-office environments
  • the ability to enable seamless migration from InfoLease to ProFinia in phases that make sense for your company

    Product Update Series: What's New in ProFinia
    For the flexibility and asset control to grow your portfolio, ProFinia provides a new level of power and sophistication. In this session we describe the newest features of the system, including end-of-term workflow and integration with Vertex "O" Series for sales and use tax. We also provide insight into the market requirements being addressed in the upcoming release.

    Managing Loans on InfoLease
    Yes, InfoLease really can handle accounting for principal and interest – and surprisingly well. This session helps you manage fixed and floating rate loans on InfoLease with special attention to the calculations and reconciliation processes involved.

Training Sessions – 9:00 – 11:45 am

While there will be breaks during the session, they may not follow the same break schedule as the 1-hour informational sessions.

    Getting the data you want from InfoLease: InfoTrieve for Beginners
    InfoTrieve is the report-writing tool built into InfoLease. This session will enable you to:

  • Describe how InfoTrieve statements are constructed
  • Create a simple statement structure
  • Apply your understanding of the database hierarchy during InfoTrieve statement construction
  • Apply your understanding of BPIs and ATBs during InfoTrieve statement construction

    This session is not for experience users of InfoTrieve.

    Rapport Documents: Intermediate
    In this session, participants will learn how to build a document in Rapport. It will begin with an overview of the types of documents that can be generated via Rapport and an explanation of how to load templates into Rapport. Most of the session will be devoted to practice with building XSL-FO document for use in Rapport, including time in the session to work on a document you bring with you. This session will enable you to:

  • Create and set up a document template in Rapport Universal Admin Tool
  • Create the xsl-fo templates in Rapport
  • Use what you have learned on a document for your business.

    Prerequisite: Attendees will need to have previous knowledge of XML, XSL and XSL-FO. If the attendee does not have previous experience with these technologies, tutorials can be found at www.w3schools.com. We strongly recommend that inexperienced attendees complete all of the lessons under the following areas: Learn XML (Learn XML Basic only), Learn XSLT (Learn XSLT Basic), Learn XSL-FO & Learn XPath.

Informational Sessions

Session 5 – 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM

    Taxes on ProFinia: A Global Approach
    Tax management systems have evolved over the past several years, and ProFinia takes advantage of the latest enhancements. This session presents ProFinia's approach to sales taxes and value-added taxes, plus the advantages of Vertex® Lease Tax O Series®. We present a high-level comparison of the approaches used in ProFinia and InfoLease.

    Operational Workflow in ProFinia: Saving Time & Reducing Costs
    Save time and reduce costs through workflow technologies. This session shows you how ProFinia's operational workflow capabilities can help you, featuring specific, relevant examples.

    Rapport and ProFinia: Technology & Architecture
    Would you like to get a look "under the hood"? This session will present an architectural overview of how Rapport and ProFinia work together and how they integrate with your other systems. We also include a "sneak peek" at future technology development plans.

    Expanded Capabilities in InfoLease for a Global Marketplace
    Although International Decision Systems customers have been using InfoLease all over the world for almost two decades, more is expected of the system today than ever before. This session provides background on specific aspects that are increasingly critical for global deployment, including managing languages, multi-byte character sets, foreign taxes, and multiple sets of accounting books.

    The Basics of UNIX for InfoLease
    Much of the power of InfoLease comes from the stability and strength of the UNIX platform on which it runs. This session will enable you to:

  • Demonstrate your understanding of how InfoLease, UniData, and UNIX work together by creating an InfoLease environment using best practices you learn in this training
  • Identify the steps required to create an InfoLease environment
  • Create simple UNIX scripts for menus and NJS Processing

    This session is intended for technical staff who have limited UNIX experience or are new to InfoLease.

    Experience Rapport Rules™: Training and Practice
    Learn and practice the use of Rapport Rules, regardless of your experience level. This session will provide an overview of Rapport Rules and their use, highlights of new rules capabilities released in Rapport 5.10, and plenty of time for guided practice, questions, and challenges. This session will enable you to:

  • Work at your own experience level and pace on practice exercises in our training guide
  • Work on your own business rules that you bring with you
  • Take advantage of IDS expert staff to assist you as you work

    This session is intended for staff who use the Rapport Universal Admin and Rapport Rules tools.

Informational Sessions

Session 7 – 1:45 PM – 3:00 PM

    Rapport and ProFinia: Application Performance
    Designed for information technology professionals, this session provides details about managing and enhancing the performance of your Rapport and ProFinia environment. It covers specifics, including tools and benchmarks used in our performance lab. We focus on the factors that affect performance, tips to improve performance, and tools used to troubleshoot related issues.

    Mitigating Credit Risk with Rapport
    Take a close look at how your company can automate credit decisions by leveraging scorecard capabilities in Rapport. This session also provides a preview of planned new functionality designed to help you evaluate portfolio risk.

    Stump the InfoLease Experts
    Our highest-rated session from 2008 returns to give you another chance to challenge our team of InfoLease experts. Is there anything you think you should be able to do on InfoLease, but haven't figured out yet?     Ad Hoc Reporting in ProFinia
    Because of the way it is architected, ProFinia offers multiple means for accessing data and reports quickly on demand. This session provides a navigation overview of the ProFinia database and the tools you can use to facilitate ad hoc reporting.

    Best Practices for Disaster Recovery
    For most financial services companies today, disaster preparedness is a minimum requirement. This session tells the story of one company's actual experience developing and executing a disaster recovery plan – carried out with zero downtime.

    Experience what it might be like to use ProFinia as your back-office solution. In this session, you will be guided through some common end-of-term (EOT) scenarios, including:

  • Using termination quote templates
  • Setting up EOT rules
  • Setting up quotes
  • Setting up terminations processing

    Creating Rapport Reports Using MS-SQL Reporting Services
    Learn how to leverage standard Microsoft SQL Server tools and functions to create your own reports from Rapport. This session will enable you to:

  • Describe how MS SQL Reporting Services tools can be used to provide direct access to Rapport data.
  • Identify the steps required to build a new report.
  • Access the report from a Rapport environment.

Informational Sessions

Session 9 – 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM

    Enterprise-Wide Integration with ProFinia
    ProFinia is built to take advantage of technologies that promote optimal, secure connectivity throughout the business enterprise. This session provides background on ProFinia's capability to communicate with your other systems enterprise-wide.

    Rapport Goes Global
    Take a closer look at how you can streamline origination around the world through Rapport. This session demonstrates using multiple languages and currencies in a single installation, as well as handling languages that require multi-byte capability.

    Multiple Meter Reads in InfoLease
    If your company offers usage billing (like cost-per-copy or cost-per-procedure), you may currently be using the InfoLease Asset Usage Tracking module. If you need a way to handle invoicing for equipment with more than one meter, this session is for you. It presents one of the newest InfoLease modules – Multiple Meter Reads – built to solve that problem, and now in use with a pioneering customer.
