Volunteers Needed

Volunteer Opportunities Available to All Registered Participants.

Are you looking for a great way to connect with fellow SIETAR members and help out with this year’s conference? Session helpers, greeters, conference bag stuffers and special event volunteers are only some of the ways you can help at SIETAR 2009.

Tables

Registration table – check in conference participants

Bag table – distribute conference bags to registered participants?Hospitality table – provide information about the Cary/Raleigh/Durham Research Triangle and North Carolina area (tourist and area information will be available).

This is a great place to meet and assist fellow SIETAR members in the intercultural field! Volunteers will be randomly assigned at the tables so please do not specify a table when making your requests.

Session Management

Volunteers will be in charge of distributing, collecting, and tallying evaluations, making sure that AV- works (and notifying the Technology Coordinator if it doesn’t), collecting a master copy of all session handouts for the SIETAR-USA 2009 master file, and making sure that the session presenters have everything they need.

Dine-Around Volunteers

This is a great opportunity to experience the local cuisine and to assist diners to and from their dinner locations.

Greeters and Runners

Greeters make participants feel welcome and help them meet others who are attending the conference. Not assigned to any particular location, runners do whatever is needed, run errands, or help other volunteers.

Silent Auction

Assist with set-up, bidding, collecting payments, and clean-up of the Silent Auction.

Registration Discounts for Volunteers

Option 1 (14 volunteer hours): $100 reduction
Option 2 (7 volunteer hours): $50 reduction

Please delay completing your registration until you have been contacted and your volunteer assignment has been determined. The deadline for applying to be a volunteer is March 1, so you will be notified in time for the earlybird registration.
