The Second Intercultural Development Inventory Conference

CONFERENCE PROPOSAL DEADLINE EXTENSION:

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the Second IDI Conference to be held October 29 & 30, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Note that conference registration fees are not waived for presenters and all presenters are expected to register for the conference by September 15, 2010.

Proposal submission deadline: Extended to JUNE 30, 2010.

Presentation proposals will be reviewed by the Conference Program Committee. Notification of acceptance of proposals will be completed by August 15, 2010.

Proposals are being accepted for the following categories:

IDI Guided Development in Practice: These sessions are designed for QAs to share creative ways they are using the IDI in training, education, or professional development settings. Proposals from a diverse range of fields are desired (i.e. corporate, education, faith based, military, study abroad, etc.)  These sessions reflect applied "best practices" and can take the form of case studies, skill building, and interactive formats. Also, presenter can share their design and delivery process for IDI Guided Development work. Sessions will be 60 or 90 minutes in length.

Panel Discussion: A panel of presenters will share their insights on IDI practice and research on a related topic. The session will be chaired and time for discussion included. Session length will be 60 Minutes.

Paper presentation: These sessions will consist of presentations of various baseline assessments, including training needs assessment, program evaluation, organizational development assessment and research findings using the IDI. Papers will also be reviewed for possible inclusion in an online IDI, LLC. publication following the conference. Sessions will be 60 minutes in length. (Multiple papers may be paired in a 60 minute session in which case each presenter will have between 20-30 minutes for their presentation).

Consideration for online publication. If you wish to have your paper considered for the IDI, LLC online publication following the conference, please attach the full paper. Papers should be 3,000 to 5,000 words, double spaced, Times New Roman 12-pt font, 1 inch margins. Case studies could be shorter. Bibliography and figures can exceed the word limit. If your paper is not available at the time that you submit your proposal, please forward the full paper to Karen Lokkesmoe by October 1, 2010.
