Inclusion Starts with I but Ends with Us
Plenary Speaker: Mary Francis Winters, The Winters Group

"Culture change" is one modern business phrase that is overused and underachieved. Organizations that are not successful in changing organizational cultures may be implementing processes that ignore individual differences. The one size fits all, generic change model cannot be sustained. The IDI is a perfect tool to understand world views, develop individualized change plans and ultimately achieve a critical mass and the tipping point to a new and more inclusive culture.

With over 30 years of experience working primarily in the public sector Mary-Frances Winters will explore how to change cultures one person at a time.

’It’s a Wonderful Device’ (George Bailey Would Understand)
Morning Plenary Speaker: Michael Vande Berg, CIEE

All of us participating in the conference appreciate the IDI—we wouldn’t attend if that weren’t the case. But what does the IDI in fact offer—what does it allow us to do? In what specific ways does it help us, our colleagues, our students and clients? What would our lives be like, what might we do, and what couldn’t we do, if the IDI simply didn’t exist? The speaker will turn to Frank Capra’s movie classic to help explore these questions, as he imagines what his world—the world of international educational exchange—would be like if the IDI, like George Bailey, had never been born.
