Whether you are returning for the eleventh time, or this is your first SIETAR-USA Conference (or anything in between): Welcome! We invite you to come listen to and connect with the leaders in our field, partake in thought-provoking sessions and discussions, and strengthen your networks and friendships within our growing interculturally-minded community. We know you will come away with deeper insights on topics of vital interest to the field and your career, acquire new ideas for transforming and balancing our lives, and gain an expanded appreciation for how we live and work in an intercultural world.

You will find our priority is to provide you with the maximum benefit for your investment of time and resources during these difficult economic times. The conference fees continue to remain the lowest in our professional field allowing you to join in the intellectually stimulating and professionally enriching activities that have been the hallmark of the SIETAR-USA annual conferences. For example, take advantage of the opportunity to participate with the leaders of the intercultural field in the Master Workshops. For the first time this year, experience the discount advantage if you sign up for two master workshops.

The Master Workshop lineup for 2011 is exceptionally strong. You are sure to find a workshop (or two) that meets your professional development needs and satisfies your questioning mind, whether your interests are in intercultural assessment, marketing your intercultural skills, hostage negotiation, on–line networking tools, training and coaching, or making a difference by reducing prejudice.

The Keynote Speakers Drs. Todd Conklin, William Cross, and Pari Namazie, will challenge and inspire our thinking about Risk and Resilience in our Intercultural World. Dr. Conklin, a faculty member at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC), is employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and is known for his research on risk. Dr. Cross, also on the SIIC faculty, is the author of Shades of Black, one of the most frequently referenced texts on Black identity. Dr. Namazie is an international human relations PhD whose insider knowledge of the Middle East derives from living and working in that region, mostly Iran.

Along with a wide range of intercultural topics, we will be highlighting two tracks: 1. Intercultural Research and 2. Diversity and Inclusion. These tracks are designed to give you a solid learning experience in a more focused area. You can choose to attend Master Workshops and concurrent sessions that follow one of the tracks, or open your learning experience to the broader range of intercultural topics. Whatever way you design your conference experience, you are bound to leave refreshed, renewed, and ready for another year.

For many, the best part of attending the conference is the chance to connect and reconnect within our wonderful, diverse intercultural community. There will be many occasions for mixing and mingling such as the opening reception, organized dine-around, and the Friday evening banquet celebration. The hotel Westin Denver Downtown is uniquely structured to promote the formal sessions as well as spontaneous encounters during the extended coffee breaks and lunch (both are included in the registration fee), and between sessions.

News Flash! The official Grand Opening of the conference will be held Wednesday evening, April 13, following the Master Workshops. We will be welcomed to Denver with an opening that will include a first-ever Town Hall meeting hosted by SIETAR-USA's President, Kelli McLoud-Schingen, an all-important conference navigation component, and an engaging overview of SIETAR-USA: past, present and future.

We look forward to seeing you in Denver, Colorado,
